Conflict and upheaval have created some of the most powerful art in history; testament to this is the art produced in Mexico between 1910 and 1940 as home grown talent flourished and international artists and photographers became inspired by the country. Universidad de Concepción, Chile Escribo esto a la memoria de muy joven y rebelde ex-alumno Ariel Salinas, militante del Movimeinto Universitario de Izquierda, MUI, desaparecido desde 1974. Cuando 'desapareció' tenía 26 anos , era casado y tenía una hija. Mi colega Ing. Comercial Haroldo Cabrera Abarzúa, fusilado por el Gral( r) Santelices y su equipo subersivo, insurrecional y armado que actuaba en contra del pueblo de Chile durante al dictadura de la Junta encabezada por el Gral (r) Pinochet. Cabrera tenia 34 añ y era Sub-Gerente de Finanzas de Chuquicamata, una empresa del estado chileno.

El padre de la primera píldora anticonceptiva, el químico austríaco Carl Djerassi, sube jovial a sus 85 años las escaleras de un hotel de Vigo, ayudado de un bastón. Es la primera vez que visita la ciudad, para recoger el premio Alecrín 2009 que le otorga la asociación feminista en reconocimiento por el invento que en 1951 dio libertad y poder a la mujer sobre su maternidad y separó el acto sexual de la reproducción. Le acompaña su hija. Dice que adquirió su feminismo intelectual «en la cama» con su esposa ya fallecida, tras una discusión seria sobre el poder social que tenía antes el hombre. A three-judge panel convicted him for ordering a military death squad to carry out two massacres that killed 25 people during his 1990-2000 rule, when he was battling guerrillas. Nearly 70,000 people died in two decades of conflict in the Andean country. Fujimori once enjoyed overwhelming popularity for taming economic chaos and defeating the Maoist insurgency known as the Shining Path, but a corruption scandal sank his government in 2000 and he fled to exile in Japan.
