Come see the plot unfold and then explode. Subterranean Shakespeare presents a reading of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. Monday, November 2, at 7:30 pm at the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, 1924 Cedar Street (at Bonita), Berkeley. Tickets are $8 at the door.

A three-judge panel convicted him for ordering a military death squad to carry out two massacres that killed 25 people during his 1990-2000 rule, when he was battling guerrillas. Nearly 70,000 people died in two decades of conflict in the Andean country. Fujimori once enjoyed overwhelming popularity for taming economic chaos and defeating the Maoist insurgency known as the Shining Path, but a corruption scandal sank his government in 2000 and he fled to exile in Japan.
